Had a late lunch today at Catagalugan themed Capitulo III (Capitulo Tres) Restaurant.

(Almost) Too pretty to eat, but so delicious and healthy:

Jardenero’s Gourmet Plate: a harvest from the backyard garden; consists of various greens and petals – nutritious & medicinal – such as pako (fern), pansit-pansitan, bougainvillea, cosmos, malunggay blossoms tossed in maple-red wine vinegar dressing.

Definitely coming back, when possible. Our waiter said they are open daily from 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. (possibly later on Fridays and Saturdays, when they have live music played onstage).

saw that the CAPITULO restaurant in Victoria, Laguna had great aircon, AN AMAZING Bar (great selection of scotch), and a lot of Rizaliana books to read. Their Sago’t Gulaman was exceptional. As were their red egg and ampalaya salad. – Carlos Celdran

The town of Pila is site for some well-preserved houses dating back to the Spanish period as well as the old Saint Anthony of Padua Parish Church, the first Antonine church in the Philippines.

The National Historical Institute of the Philippines declared the town plaza and surrounding ancestral houses a National Historical Landmark on May 17, 2000. Two years later, on July 9, 2002, the Diocese of San Pablo proclaimed the parish church of San Antonio de Padua de Pila as the Diocesan Shrine of St. Anthony. According to Philippine historian, Dr. Luciano Santiago, it is the only town in the Philippines that is formally recognized as a historical site by both the church and the state.

Running more or less parallel to the National Highway, between the towns of Pila and Victoria in the Laguna Province lies the concrete, partially-paved Pila-Victoria Road. Click on the thumbnails to embiggen.

You can’t get an unobstructed view like this in the Metro – just wide, open space as far as the eye can see! I bet this place would be awesome for taking night sky photos.

Cows, fields, mountains, sky

It’s like in a painting. A picturesque view of rice fields (now harvested and dry), cows grazing, and Mount Banahaw with its companions.

Roadside Bench

Above, photo-stitching (using Microsoft “ICE” – Image Composite Editor) was a failure in the dark corners. I think it was because the photos that the software discarded were focused on the sunset and so were too dark to render or stitch. The bench was supposed to be in the center of the panoramic image.

All photos were taken on May 29, 2010.

His first stroller ride.

On the slopes of Mt. Makiling. I can see the SLEx and Tagaytay from here!

After watching the May 3 Pacquiao vs. Hatton fight, my in-law’s and I went over to Jam’s Tito Mandy’s house in Calamba. It was for an extended celebration of Jam’s and her nephew Barnett’s birthday.

We walked off some of the excess food by taking Johann to the nearby park, on his first stroller ride. Click here to view the album of photos.
