Took my month-old Nokia 6300 for a spin by recording an amateur video last night at Zensho Teppanyaki Restaurant and Sushi Bar, Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Eat-all-you-can for PhP 485++ per person. Watch Chef Rogelio show off like flipping egg shells into his cap.

For the same price range, it’s definitely a way much better deal than at the Triple V group’s Saisaki, Kamayan, and Dad’s Restaurants where the quality of food, service, and hygiene (at any of their branches) has taken a major dip.

According to the Department of Health – Bureau of Food and Drugs, several imported Chinese food products they recently tested were found positive for formaldehyde (a.k.a. formalin, a disinfectant and preservative commonly used in embalming, can cause cancer, specifically lung cancer). Among the products found to be laced with formalin are White Rabbit Creamy Candies, which have been a staple treat to many a Filipino for generations.

NOW they tell us!

Here’s where I scored dinner last night, after a haircut and while waiting for the car’s wax job to finish nearby. At first glance, it’s impossible not to be amused that someone has actually opened a little eatery called “Patay Gutom” – literal term used to describe a person suffering a dire hunger or need, and it has a disparaging and derogatory connotation beyond the literal meaning and is used to belittle or insult someone.

It’s my Dad’s birthday tomorrow, but the party was last night at the fabulous Club Mwah along Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong, amidst the razzle of their Bedazzled 7 production – the latest installment of the series dubbed Follies De Mwah.

The Vegas showgirl (err, showgay?) styled musical production featured campy-sexy numbers from Cats, Madame Butterfly, West Side Story, Victor Victoria (to name a few), a twisted Little Mermaid meets Titanic spoof – and even a special guest appearance by Tina Turner, who teased my Dad with a bit of a lapdance! Haha! Stupid me wasn’t able to catch it on camera. Very entertaining work by Pocholo Malillin and Cris Nicolas. Bravo!
