Rubik’s Twist and Rubik’s Cube
Memories of speed-twisting against my neighbor, Pierre back in grade school flashed through my mind as soon as I saw this Rubik’s Twist (Limited Edition) at Hobbes & Landes. So I bought it. No sooner had I unboxed it that I was able to instinctively recall the algorithms to form the sphere.
Solving my sister’s 3×3 Rubik’s Cube, on the other hand, was a challenge I had taken on just this past week. I wouldn’t have been able to conquer the cube without the cube solving secrets shared by Tyson Mao in 8 easy steps.
After that first eureka moment, I agree with Tyson,
Tyson firmly believes that anyone can solve the Cube with a little time and a little patience.
In the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness, where Will Smith potrays struggling salesman turned Wall Street legend Chris Gardner, solving the Rubik’s Cube is symbolic of one’s patience and perseverance to overcome life’s obstacles.
P.S. – Yes, that’s a Picoo Z miniature radio-controlled helicopter also in the photo. I’ve had it since October 2006 and haven’t broken it yet. It rocks!

Oy EJ!! Hi!!!! Sobrang interesado ako sa Rubik’s na yan. Mga 2 years ko na sinusubukan tapusin, pero wala. Kailangan pala kasi may algorithm algorithm pa. I have a friend who’s obsessed with Rubik’s, he won some 4x4x4 tournament, at nainsipire ako matuto. Haha! Yun lang, galing mo! Pag-aaralan ko na nga ulit

Oi, Fin! Salamat! Algorithm is just a fancy word for pattern. You just have to memorize the pattern to execute to complete each level of the cube.
Madaya ka nga, Bernice! Haha!
