Circumstance and the right conditions yielded the opportunity to successfully set a new (documented!) top speed record for Maritess earlier today.

No pretensions. She was not built for speed, but it’s nice to know that she can be made to safely reach new limits.

2004 Toyota Revo VX200
Stock 2.0 L 1RZ-E, 4-Speed AT (Gas)
105 HP, 1500 LBS, Redline @ 5500 RPM
150 KMH (93.2 MPH)

I was on my way back to Manila from Canyon Woods, Tagaytay and had just left the northbound Sta. Rosa exit. This happened on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx), before the Carmona exit. I was by myself and had both airconditioners off.

The whole engine is still stock, but well-maintained in-house at Toyota. The only notable changes are (maybe) factors like the Denso Iridium spark plugs and the Falken ZIEX ZE-326 (stock size 195/65 R15 91H) tires filled with nitrogen, care of Tireboy Philippines.

Always consider SAFETY before SPEED y’all. Commuter driving is for transportation, not competition. Arrive alive.
